U.S. retail sales edge up in June

U.S. retail sales rose by one percent in June, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau. That was a bigger increase than the 0.8 percent forecast by analysts. LBM sales fell by 0.9 percent. Compared to the previous June, retail sales were up 7.7 percent. May’s decline was revised upward to 0.1 percent from 0.3 percent.
