TORONTO — With 15 years at the helm of Home Depot Canada and an Order of Canada under her belt, Annette Verschuren is a self-confessed “serial entrepreneur.” Her latest venture, NRStor Inc., is a project developer in renewable energy storage, and just launched Canada’s first commercial flywheel energy storage facility in Harriston, Ont. Speaking to the Financial Post, Verschuren admitted the startup adventure was a “steep learning curve” after executive life, but is confident the company could be managing 1,000 megawatts within five to 10 years.
