BENTONVILLE, Ark. ― Wal-Mart Stores announced this week that it has closed its acquisition of e-retailer Jet.com. The retail giant agreed last month to pay some $3 billion, the largest sum ever for an internet startup. In a blog post, Wal-Mart CEO Doug McMillon said the addition of Jet would enhance his company’s online channel, and pointed to the two companies’ shared commitment to customer savings.
