Walmart Canada names new head

Walmart Canada has announced the appointment of Gonzalo Gebara as president and CEO, effective Jan. 30, 2023, and pending authorization to work in Canada. Since joining Walmart in 2000, Gebara has held roles across finance, strategy, e-commerce, marketing, and operations. He was most recently CEO of Walmart Chile but has also served the business in the United States and Argentina. For the past six months, JP Suarez, EVP, chief administration officer, and regional CEO for Walmart International, has led Walmart Canada on an interim basis.
