MELBOURNE, Australia — Bunnings Warehouse is warning consumers not to give personal information to peddlers of bogus vouchers claiming to be issued by the retailer. The scams have been popular on Facebook, where they typically promise a gift voucher – often valued in unlikely denominations of as much as $2000 – with the completion of a simple form. The hardware banner has emphasized that it is not behind the offers and that they can be used for data mining, identity fraud, and to infect users’ computers with viruses.
