West Fraser Timber Co. said this week it will cut 147 jobs across three B.C. mills. The move, expected to take effect in Q4, is a response to a shortage of timber supplies. It will impact the Fraser Lake Sawmill, Williams Lake Lumber, and Quesnel Plywood sites. The layoffs come as West Fraser permanently reduces production at the three mills by a combined total of more than 250 million board feet.
