ST. JACOBS, Ont. — Home Hardware hosted the Hon. Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Ontario’s Lieutenant-Governor, at its St. Jacobs office and distribution centre on Tuesday. This was one stop in a series of others around the Township of Woolwich in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Canadian flag. Her Honour was joined by Mayor Sandy Shantz of Woolwich Township, Joan O’Malley, who sewed the first Canadian flag, Diane Bonfonte, Founder and Chair of Flag Wavers of Waterloo Region, Gloria Rudney of Flag Wavers Of Waterloo Region, and Ella Brubacher, Chair of Quilts For The World. The group was taken on a tour of the Distribution Centre, which featured Home Hardware’s Canadian and Ontario flag inventory and Beauti-Tone paints.
