TORONTO ― The Retail Council of Canada says it has worked with the cities of Toronto and Ottawa and the region of Peel to secure noise by-law exemptions, ensuring that retailers can receive deliveries 24 hours a day and that essential goods remain in stock. In Saskatchewan, retailers are exempted from mandatory closures but must maintain distances of one to two metres between persons. The Retail Council also reminded its members that the closure of the Canada-U.S. border to non-essential travel does not affect the shipment of goods.
