BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — Tractor Supply Co. posted Q2 profits 2% higher than last year, as 22 new store openings aided growth. Net sales increased 4.5% to $1.85 billion from $1.77 billion in the second quarter of 2015. Same-store sales decreased 0.5% versus a 5.6% increase in the prior year’s second quarter. At the same time, the company announced that finance chief Anthony Crudele will step down next year, to be succeeded by Kurt Barton, currently corporate controller. The two will collaborate in the coming months for an orderly transition.
