MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Lowe’s Cos. has set up its head office as a command centre in anticipation of Hurricane Dorian, which is expected to move up the U.S. East Coast from the Caribbean over the next week. Warehouses in North Carolina, Georgia and Florida will rush supplies to Florida over the weekend to help customers prepare. The company has already shipped more than 800 truckloads of supplies to its coastal markets. Relief supplies are being held at the Statesville, N.C., distribution centre ready for shipment after the storm hits. After hurricanes, specially trained Lowe’s associates travel to areas in need as members of associate relief teams, provide additional customer support and backup for colleagues tending to their families and homes.
