The Home Depot reports it earned $4.23-billion, or $4.09 per share, in the first quarter. That was up from $4.1-billion ($3.86) a year ago and ahead of analyst estimates of $3.67 per share. Total revenues rose by about four percent to $38.9-billion. Same-store sales were up 2.2 percent worldwide and 1.7 percent in the U.S.
