RONA and Sexton add key new members

MISSION, B.C. & OTTAWA — RONA and Sexton Group have each announced they are welcoming major dealer members. RONA has added Fraser Valley Building Supplies, a Mission, B.C., a dealer formerly with the Ace banner. This latest addition as an affiliate store furthers two of the strategies which CEO Robert Sawyer outlined to RONA shareholders last month: growth in the West, and relocation of existing stores to larger, newly purchased properties nearby. (You read it first in HARDLINES, folks!).
Sexton Group’s newest member is Casselman Plywood in Casselman, Ont., outside Ottawa. It has been owned and operated by the Lapointe family since 2013. Raymond Lapointe said that the store and Sexton Group “share the same business philosophy.”
(CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story reported that RONA had purchased Fraser Valley Building Supplies. This was incorrect. —Editor)
