Ace steps up to eliminate bee-killing pesticides

WASHINGTON — U.S. co-op dealer Ace Hardware is the latest retailer to announce it will wind down use of pesticides in its plants that are deadly to bees. Ace has announced it is willing to move away from products containing neonicotinoids, which has been linked to the global decline in bee populations. “Ace Hardware will be diligent in working with our vendors to take appropriate action to protect pollinators,” said Frank Carroll, vice president of merchandising at Ace Hardware Corp.
