Amazon pushes warehouse robots

SEATTLE — Amazon.com will pour thousands of additional robots into its warehouses by year’s end, increasing their number from some 1,300 to more than 10,000, according to Internet Retailer. The deployment of robotic technology in fulfillment centres is the result of Amazon’s acquisition of Kivas Systems Inc, which specializes in warehouse automation.
