The upcoming Barbie film features a set inspired by the mid-century modernist architecture of Palm Springs. The scaled-up Barbie Dreamhouse was erected at the Warner Bros. lot in Leavesden, England, just outside London. Its saturated fuchsia-heavy palette makes extensive use of a particular shade of Rosco brand fluorescent pink. Production designer Sarah Greenwood told Architectural Digest that the film squeezed the global supply of pink paint: “The world ran out of pink.”
