TORONTO — Canadians took full advantage of Black Friday sales both at home and over the border, even without the benefit of a holiday. The Toronto Star reports that over 100,000 shoppers passed through Toronto’s Eaton Centre, which opened early for the occasion, in the morning alone. It was projected to beat last year’s tally of 270,401, the first time the mall saw more traffic on Black Friday than Boxing Day. Yorkdale Shopping Centre anticipated a 20% spike in customers, but the day still lags behind Boxing Day there.
