Building permits rise in February

The value of building permits in Canada rose by 8.6 percent to $10.7 billion in February. Seven provinces reported monthly increases, including gains of 10.7 percent in Ontario and 25.6 percent in Alberta. Residential permits were up 7.9 percent to $6.6 billion while single-family permits were stable, edging up by 0.5 percent.
