OTTAWA — The value of building permits issued by Canadian municipalities decreased 2.4% to $8.1 billion in November, according to StatCan. Declines were reported in six provinces, with the largest decrease in Ontario, where permits fell 5.7% to $3.2 billion. A 10.3% rise in Quebec, to $1.9 billion, offset some of the decline. Permits for multi-family dwellings were down in all provinces except Prince Edward Island, partly offset by gains in the single-family category led by B.C. and Ontario.
