Canadian Tire Corp. takes further pandemic measures

TORONTO — Canadian Tire Retail stores have reduced store hours and installed plexiglass dividers and floor decals to accommodate physical distancing protocols. Stores outside the Canadian Tire banner, such as Mark’s and SportChek, remain closed but are seeing an increase in online demand. Canadian Tire Corp. is seeking to support its corporate store, distribution and call centre employees with a special support payment.

The company is also implementing a plan to reduce operating costs at its head office and corporate stores as well as pausing the repurchase of shares.
