BOLTON, Ont. — The region of Caledon, northwest of Toronto on the edge of the Niagara Escarpment, will be home to a giant distribution complex for Canadian Tire, but not without having created a furor among residents there. Now, according to the Toronto Star, details have leaked out about support by local officials for the planned facility well in advance of it being presented to taxpayers.
The area is resisting a provincial mandate to increase residential density there, and the Canadian Tire distribution hub, on 72 hectares of land, would be well below density targets.
