Canadians lower Black Friday expectations

TORONTO — Canadians are doing less cross-border shopping with a waning loonie, say analysts, but many will still be looking for Black Friday deals closer to home. Those deals won’t offer the kind of savings as American shoppers can take advantage of, Retail Council of Canada CEO Diane Brisebois told Global News, but according to a Mediabrand survey 86% of consumers don’t expect them to. Instead, they’re content with more modest bargains at chains like Shoppers Drug Mart, Best Buy, Hudson’s Bay, Target, and Walmart.
