Castle Building Centres Group has announced that Island Home & Garden in Gabriola, B.C., is returning to its fold after stints with other banners. The business was founded just under a decade ago by Nick and Robin Hock and was soon wooed by competitors. It went on to make two separate attempts at affiliation with rival groups, only to learn that “the grass isn’t always greener on the other side,” as Nick put it in a release. The Hocks have a second location in the pipeline in Cumberland, B.C., which they hope to open in the fall.
