CFIB says pandemic’s business effects aren’t over

The Canadian Federation of Independent Business says price increases have moderated and employment numbers are going up, The Globe and Mail reports. The organization’s chief economist warns however that small business owners are not out of the woods yet when it comes to pandemic-related disruptions.

“Once they were through with the lockdowns, businesses had to face a cascade of spillover effects from the pandemic: the supply chain challenges, cost pressures, and the labour market pressures,” said Simon Gaudreault.
