BOSTON — A last-minute surge in online orders left UPS unable to make some deliveries of merchandise in time for Christmas. Retailers such as Amazon and Walmart felt the impact of weather combined with purchase volume. Some FedEx shipments were also affected. Amazon is refunding the cost of shipping on the orders in question as well as offering a $20 gift card, according to Boston Business Journal.
