TORONTO — Fairfax Financial Holdings announced that it has acquired 19,991,044 common shares of Tembec, or about 20% of Tembec’s issued and outstanding shares. The shares were purchased, for investment purposes, in a private transaction at a price of $2.25 under a share purchase agreement. They are the only securities that Fairfax currently owns or controls in Tembec.
