OTTAWA — Retail sales decreased 0.9% to $50.4 billion in November, according to StatCan, affected mainly by lower sales at gasoline stations and motor vehicle and parts dealers. Excluding these two sub-sectors, retail sales managed to inch up by 0.2%. Sales seasonally adjusted within the building material and garden equipment and supplies dealers sub-sector was down 0.3% from October and down 2.3% year over year.
