Home Depot hit with data breach suits

ATLANTA — Home Depot is facing a total of 44 security-related lawsuits to date in Canada and the United States, the Associated Press reports. The suits stem from the data breach that affected 56 million payment cards earlier in the year. The company warned that the legal expenses could increase costs, but investors are undeterred: shares rose 34 cents in pre-market trading Tuesday.
