SAINT JACOBS, Ont. — Home Hardware Stores Ltd. has just announced that it has brought on Marianne Thompson to the company’s leadership team. She has been appointed vice president, merchandise LBM, effective January 7, 2019.
Home Hardware made a strategic reorganization of its merchandise department back in 2015, which resulted in the creation of two new dedicated merchandise teams responsible for all product sourcing. However, most recently, VP Joel Marks had been filling both the hardlines and LBM roles. Now he will return to focusing on the hardware side as vice president, merchandise hardlines, with Thompson in the lead role on the LBM side.
“Our number one priority is providing our dealers with the best program for independents in the industry,” said Kevin Macnab, president and CEO of Home Hardware Stores. “Home Hardware has significant opportunity for growth in both the LBM and hardlines categories. Dedicated merchandise leadership will drive our growth strategy.”
Thompson was most recently senior vice president of North American sales at Jeld-Wen Windows and Doors.
(NOTE: A previous version of this story indicated that Home Hardware has made a recent reorganization of its senior merchandising teams. Those changes were actually made in 2015 under the direction of then VP Marketing and Sales Rick McNabb.—Editor)
