Nova Scotia revisits RONA mall decision

HALIFAX — Nova Scotia’s Utility and Review Board has given a proposed Bedford RONA a new lease on life, overturning the decision of a Halifax Regional Municipality official. The store was turned down in June for a site in Bedford Place Mall, with the city finding that as a building supplies outlet it fell afoul of Bedford’s zoning by-laws. Provincial regulators however accepted RONA’s argument that the facility would be a retail store and okayed the project, The Chronicle Herald reports.
