The heads of the big three grocery chains will testify today before parliamentarians in Ottawa today about runaway food prices and profits. The House of Commons agriculture committee will interview Galen Weston Jr., chairman and president of Loblaw Cos.; Michael Medline, CEO and president of Empire Co.; and Eric La Flèche, CEO and president of Metro Inc. The top grocers faced blowback last year for sending subordinates to testify on behalf of their respective companies.
