SEATTLE — Home improvement startup Porch celebrated its first birthday with the announcement that it has raised $33 million in funding, Forbes reports. The company, which provides digital solutions to homeowners, has been hailed as a harbinger of the growing “internet of things.” The bulk of the money comes from partner Lowe’s, which relishes Porch’s app because it allows customers to find important information they need to plan projects before coming in the door.
