Quebec ends Sunday closures, imposes pass on big boxes

Quebec hardware stores will no longer be required to close on Sundays after this weekend. Currently, under measures put in place ahead of the new year, only convenience stores, pharmacies, gas stations, and take-out dining may open Sundays.

Premier François Legault also said that effective Jan. 24, vaccine passes will be required to enter stores of 1,500 square metres or more, with exceptions for the grocery and pharmacy categories.
