Quebec’s minimum wage goes up next week

Quebec’s minimum wage increases next Monday as several provinces are set to roll out their own hikes later this year. Starting May 1, the minimum wage in la belle province will surpass $15. This year, every province and territory except for Alberta and Nunavut have raised their minimums or will do so.

British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, the Yukon, and federally regulated employers have already implemented new floors on hourly wages. On Oct. 1, three Atlantic provinces (but not New Brunswick) will see minimum wage rise to $15, while increases will also go into effect that day in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario.
