RONA responds to EBSU reports

This week, Le Journal de Montréal reported that cabinet maker EBSU had taken a hit from the loss of a major client and reductions to orders from banners including RONA and BMR. In response, RONA inc. has rejected any link between what it characterizes as normal fluctuations in order volume and the loss of the unnamed client amid a legal dispute with EBSU’s former competitor Woodlore, which it acquired in 2021.

The retailer told the newspaper it maintains “excellent relations” with EBSU. “Our order ledger with EBSU fluctuates according to the time of year, consumer demand, and ongoing promotions,” spokesperson Valérie Gonzalo said, adding that “2022 was no exception. Currently, our order volume with EBSU is very high.”
