Roxul announces new corporate office

Roxul plantMILTON, Ont. — Roxul Inc. has announced plans to build a new North American headquarters located on Esquesing Line in Milton, Ont. The 25,000-square-foot head office will house approximately 100 employees from Roxul and its sister companies.

“ROXUL’s stone wool insulation products reduce energy use and minimize the impacts of climate change. As a global leader in energy efficient building solutions, ensuring that our new North American headquarters is an example of environmental excellence, and demonstrating what can be achieved in building construction, is of paramount importance to us,” said Trent Ogilvie, president of Roxul.

Roxul claims the building will be among the lowest energy-use buildings in Canada and will meet LEED Gold Standards.  Roxul’s Energy Design Centre has been involved in the building envelope design, and will be built to approximately 35% over typical energy model codes, resulting in significant energy savings.  The new building will include environmental design details such as motion sensor lights, HVAC systems, drought resistant landscaping, rain water harvesting, and grey water reuse.

Construction of the facility is expected to begin in spring 2014 with occupancy scheduled for December 2014.
