TORONTO — Sears Canada announced its board of directors has appointed acting president and CEO Ronald Boire in a permanent capacity. Boire took up the position on an acting basis in October. Prior to his arrival in Canada, he was executive vice-president, chief merchandising officer and president for Sears and Kmart Formats with Sears Holdings Corporation. Before joining Sears in January 2012, Boire was president and CEO at Brookstone, Inc. Previously, he held positions at Toys ‘R’ Us, Best Buy, and Sony Electronics.
