Target struggles with bilingual bane

MONTREAL — Target’s self-checkout kiosks have hit a snag in Canada, with the terminals set up to offer service in one language. A Montreal customer who complained about the lack of an English self-service option was told that the issue is one of technology rather than politics, with the company having to choose one language for each of its markets. However, other retailers such as Loblaws offer bilingual machines and Target says it hopes to do likewise by the spring. Check out cbc.ca.
