The Home Depot issues its 2023 ESG Report

On July 27, The Home Depot published a report outlining progress on its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) pillars. In 2022, the company says, it reduced its carbon emissions by some 92,000 metric tons, equivalent to taking more than 20,000 cars off the road for a year.

In the “goals in progress” section, Home Depot says that, by 2027, all private brand fibre packaging for new products will be compostable, recyclable, or contain recycled content. As previously reported, the company expects that by the end of fiscal 2028 more than 85 percent of U.S. and Canadian sales in outdoor power equipment will run on rechargeable battery technology instead of gas.
