TIMBER MART appoints Ontario commodity trader

VAUGHAN, Ont. ― TIMBER MART has announced that Barry McCartney has joined its lumber trading team as senior commodity trader in Ontario. In that role, McCartney will serve as a resource for members in the province by sourcing commodity products, securing buying opportunities and managing the group’s pressure-treated lumber program in the region.

“Barry has over 25 years of experience trading lumber, plywood and OSB in Ontario which he gained by working for a number of companies, including Taiga Building Products and Tembec,” said John Morrissey, TIMBER MART’s vice-president of distribution and trading. “He brings an abundance of knowledge to our experienced lumber-trading team and will be a great asset to our membership. We’re committed to providing our members with an effective, national lumber-trading service—and Barry’s hiring is a testament to that.”
