U.S. construction spending rises in September

Investment in U.S. construction was up 0.4 percent in December, according to the U.S. Commerce Department, in line with analyst estimates. Investment in residential construction rose by 0.6 percent, with spending on single-family projects up 1.3 percent. August’s data was revised upward to an increase of 1.0 percent, from the preliminary estimate of 0.5 percent.
