U.S. retail rebounds in January

U.S. retail sales rose by three percent in January to $697 billion, according to U.S. Census Bureau data. The increase, the largest in two years, followed a 1.1 percent slip in December and beat estimates of a 1.8 percent uptick. Automotive sales, electronics and furniture retailers, and restaurant tabs led the growth.
