Walmart Canada opens massive DC in Moncton

Walmart Canada officially cut the ribbon on its new distribution centre in Moncton, N.B., yesterday. The facility is the first DC for Walmart in Atlantic Canada. It measures 223,000 square feet and will employ 130 people.

Walmart Canada’s president and CEO, Gonzalo Gebara, said that Moncton was chosen for geographical reasons. Premier Blaine Higgs said at the opening that the largest company in the world setting up such a large facility in the province would send a message to the wider business community.
