Watson TIMBER MART celebrates 50 years

VAUGHAN, Ont. — Watson TIMBER MART, with locations in Courtright, and Wyoming, Ont., celebrates 50 years in business this year. From May 21 -23, Watson TIMBER MART hosted a three-day sale to celebrate the anniversary. The sale was kicked off with a barbecue fundraiser at the original store location in Courtright, which was opened in 1965 by local entrepreneur Bob Dobson. Today, the business remains family owned and operated by four of Dobson’s children, John Dobson, Brenda Postil, Bobbie Mitchell, and Bev McGregor.

Much of the business’ long-term success, Watson TIMBER MART says, is due to the group’s banner and buying support they’ve had as a member. “The recognition we get with the TIMBER MART national banner, and the advantage of buying through the Group has allowed us to stay visible and competitive in our market – even with big box stores in the area,” says part- owner, John Dobson. “TIM-BR MART’s banner and buying support has been integral to our success over the years.”
