VANCOUVER — West Fraser Timber reported that Q3 sales rose by 32 percent to $1.69 billion. Earnings of $350 million compared with a $45 million loss in Q3 of 2019. The lumber segment generated operating earnings of $454 million for the quarter, due in part to higher lumber prices. In the panels segment, operating earnings amounted to $47 million, favourably impacted by higher pricing and strong demand for plywood.
